Filmmaker Anees Bazmee, who will be directing two films ‘Aankhen 2’ and ‘Mubaraka’, has said the reason for making the sequel to the 2002 film ‘Aankhen’ is the legendary Amitabh Bachchan.
He said, he has worked with almost all actors but considered himself to be unlucky since he hadn’t got a chance to direct Bachchan.
“I think it is a tough job to make a good film… The reason behind making the film is Mr. Bachchan. I have worked with almost all actors but I still considered myself unlucky that I didn’t get a chance to work with Amitji” Bazmee said.
He added that he immediately agreed to do the sequel.
“‘Aankhen’ was really a good film as it had a tremendous concept. So when Gaurang Doshi came to me with the film I immediately agreed… this time my attempt is to make a bigger and better sequel” he added.
Apart from Bachchan, Aankhen 2 also stars Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Arshad Warsi and Ileana D’Cruz.
And unfortunately..He will be the reason fr flopping the movie too.
He should sign Shahrukh as well, his career is on the verge of ending.

Aankhen was indeed a good, but I don’t think it did well on the box office side. I hope the sequel is good, hopefully better.

amithji is a legendary actor, nodoubt about it, but he cannot get the opening like akshay. this movie will have to depend upon word of mouth publicity to survive. also it is pitted against a huge franchise film, so very difficult to become big hit.

Aankhen did very well at the box office. It was the 3rd highest grossing movie of 2002.
