Amitabh Bachchan donates 51 lakhs to Delhi’s Kirori Mal College

Legendary Indian Actor Amitabh Bachchan has donated Rs 51 lakhs to Delhi’s Kirori Mal College. The donation will be used to build an auditorium at the college where he graduated from.

At an event on Wednesday, the yesteryear megastar spoke fondly of his college days in the Delhi University campus.

“Whatever we acquire in our college or school days, those memories stay with us for the rest of life. I don’t know whether you will agree to that or not but we keep recalling those memories most of the time. It’s like a mirror in front of us. We can’t forget those memories.”

The event was attended by many others including the top directors from Yash Raj Films – Kabir Khan, Vijay Krishna Acharya and Ali Abbas Zafar.

“Many acclaimed filmmakers have passed out from Kirori Mal College. It would be great if we can make an auditorium in memory of our drama teacher Frank Thakurdas who inspired us to be in theatre and films” Bachchan, who joined the college in 1959 and graduated in 1962, said.

  • Its embarrassing, disguesting how these celebrities are announcing 1 cr or 50 lakh donations in public. Be it Akshay or now Bachchan.

They need to learn from Gates, Zuckerberg’s and SRKs of the world.

They donate much much more for everything including charity but do it so quietly and not use this for publicity purposes.
