Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan, who will be sharing screen-space for the very first time in Yash Raj Films’ ‘Thugs Of Hindostan’, are the two top contenders for the ‘Best Actor Award’ at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017.
Bachchan has been nominated for his terrific performance in ‘Pink’, while Aamir’s nomination is for his universal blockbuster ‘Dangal’. Hrithik Roshan has been nominated for his outstanding act in ‘Kaabil’. Other nominees are Rajkummar Rao for ‘Trapped’, Sushant Singh Rajput for ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ and Lalit Bhel – Adil Hussain for ‘Mukti Bhawan’.
In the female category, Alia Bhatt has received a nomination for ‘Dear Zindagi’, Vidya Balan for ‘Kahaani 2’, Tannishtha Chatterjee for ‘Dr. Rakhmabai’, Kavya Madhavan for ‘Pinneyum’, Ratna Pathak and Konkona Sen Sharma for ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ (which is yet to release in India).
In the Best Film category; ‘Pink’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Joker’, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ are nominated, while ‘Dangal’ and ‘Bahubali 2: The Conclusion’ will be fighting it out in the ‘People’s Choice’ category.
The Best Director nominations are for Nikhil Manjoo (Reservation), Nitesh Tiwari (Dangal), Vikramaditya Motwane (Trapped), N Padmakumar (A Billion Colour Story), Buddhadeb Dasgupta (Tope), Alankrita Shrivastava (Lipstick Under My Burkha), S.S. Rajamouli (Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion) and Konkona Sen Sharma for (A Death in the Gunj).
Update (Correction): Hrithik Roshan has also been nominated for his performance in ‘Kaabil’.

But, remember that akki’s best film, baby or special 26 did less than Salman’s weak film, jai ho in republic holiday. Airlift did 15cr better than jai ho but jai ho was older film(1year). So, inflation adjusted, airlift did actually 5cr better than jai ho. But airlift to akki is what bajrangi bhaijaan to Salman. If Salman released bajrangi bhaijaan in republic holiday, akki would never do anywhere close to it.
Salman in SULTAN…SRK in fan deserved to be in the list.

Was ADHM really a good movie? It was a crap.
Recently, the news of Dangal making it to the 2000 crore was termed to be fake. The makers clarified by issuing the actual worldwide figures which are 1864 crores. Nonetheless, the number is huge and it still remains to be the highest worldwide grosser ever. The film’s emotional content struck a nerve with the Chinese audiences and they could relate to the patriarchal setup of the film’s story.
