All Is Well, Abhishek Bachchan’s first solo film in 5 years, has taken a very poor start at the domestic box office. The all-India average occupancy in the morning was 10-15%. At smaller cities, the opening was poorer at around the 5-10% range.
The music had gained popularity in the last few weeks. Also, the goodwill of Umesh Shukla’s last film ‘OMG! Oh My God’ was expected to ensure a decent opening at the box office. Unfortunately, the film will now depend on word-of-mouth publicity and the early reports from theatres range from mixed to negative.
The other release this week, Manjhi: The Mountain Man, was also expected to take a decent start due to Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s presence. The opening, though, is poor all over. However, the reports are good, so the film is expected to perform well on Saturday and Sunday.
Last week’s release Brothers has come crashing down on its 2nd Friday. The film will finish with net box office collections of around 85-90 crore.
Drishyam and Bajrangi Bhaijaan are still running on limited numbers of shows, and both films are steady.

All is well is expected to be another disaster and a huge setback for AB’s career.But he isn’t as bad as people as people claim him to be.He was terrific in Guru and Happy New Year.But unfortunately he doesn’t have any script sense.Also his laid back and lethargic attitude has further resulted in the down slide of his career
All hopes are now on Manjhi the trailer was excellent and considering the reviews it has been receiving it’s set out to be a landmark movie in Indian cinema.
And they said BB collected 300cr because of Nawaz…lol
No offense to Nawaz, he’s the best actor currently and Manjhi is awesome but he’s not a megastar like Salman to bring in people.
@gj007 , absolutely no comparisons whatsoever between Hirani & Shukla , while the former is a genius the latter is not that a bad director at all and I genuinely enjoyed his OMG (which happens to be one of my most favorite movies from the recent past ), I did had a few expectations from him from his ‘All is well’ and felt that it would be a surprise sleeper hit but the reviews & trends suggest that it will flop badly , may be a much more saleable actor than the Mr.flop Jr bachaan would have done the trick to an extent at the BO .
On the other hand ‘manjhi’ should do good at BO bcos of WOM , Had the movie released 2 or 3 years ago (before Kick & BB happened for nawaz) the movie would have flopped so badly that most of wouldn’t even know that it had actually ‘flopped’ but thanks to his new found stardom albeit on a small scale the movie would not go unnoticed, mind u I never said anything about nawaz ‘the actor’ , he is the among the best out there but there is no denying the fact that he has gained some sort of stardom after kick & BB and that’s what nawaz needed for his manjhi.
The movie is no doubt a must watch for 3 reasons
1.The real manjhi’s superhuman’ish story 2.Nawaz’s superlative performance &
last but not the least for its direction.
People are so much biased towards their fav stars that they are saying- PRDP will earn only 140 cr and Dilwale will earn 400 cr
