  • Assad ,, it’s something that “Ashsheeiaah” Muslims believe in
La fata illa ali = no one is brave & strong except for Ali
la saife illa zulfiqar = there’s no true sword except for “zulfiqar” which is a sword that belonged to Prophet Muhammad ( may mercy be upon him ) & he gave it -as assheeiaah believe- to Ali .

  • it means ALI (R.A) is the sword of almighty ALLAH………….
saif means sword and zulfiqar is a name of sword which was given to hazrat ALI

  • hmm interesting..thx broz…wud be interesting to knw sunni’s on it..do they believe that the sword was given to ALI (R.A) by Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)

  • OH GOD!

  • Jainpotter are you sure about yr comment on ahud?

Wasn’t zulfiqar bestowed upon hazrat ali(a.s) on the night when he slept instead on the prophet(s.a) on yhe night of hijrat as it is truly believed just to make light on what is right:)

  • first of all an amazing song

@ Smita – Aap hi ho quwwate parwardigaar is correct.

one huge correction is credits – lyricist of this song is not Prasoon Joshi its Irfan Siddique, please give him credit for such a beautiful song

  • here is the meaning

    La fatah illa ali
(there is) no youth like ali

    la saif illa zulfiqar
(there is) no sword like zulfeqar

    O shah-e-mardaan, sher-e-yazdaan, jaan fida tumpe….
O king of the brave, lion of the beloved/merciful…

    aap hi ho quwwate parvardigaar…
you are the mighty/powerful lord of this world …

i guess rest is simple urdu so anyone would understand

  • can anyone pls translate this song in hindi….

    ” ya ali(ganagster)

  • TO Mr. Swapnil & Dear readers….

Your meaning of this quote is not correct, I just wanted to enlighten all of you

    …………………posted by Swapnil
    ………………..on November 21st, 2009 at 8:39 pm

    ……………….”aap hi ho quwwate parvardigaar…
you are the mighty/powerful lord of this world …”……………………

The correct meaning : Quwwat means power/might
Parwardigar has farsi roots and it means “The Provider/Nourisher” i.e “allah”

So the meaning of ” aap hi ho quwwate parvardigaar” …..is

” You are the power/ might of “The Provider/Nourisher” ….i.e ALLAH”

and NOT that Ali is the mighty/powerful lord of this world as the earlier post had stated…..but it said in just a gesture as a complimant for him saying Ali is the power/ might of the lord. or ….

    Thank you

  • mashallah… ajeeb sa dikhta… yeh dua suna tho.. wakai..
hazrat ali ki shaan… na yeh duniya mei hai.. na hogi … mere moula ki shaan..hi alag hai..
bahut khub salim bhai. jeyoo bhai..
