Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has not only planned a excellent promotional strategy for his upcoming film ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, but the actor will dedicate more time than he usually allots for movie promotions – because his next film is about a social cause that is close to his heart too.
The actor who is on an extraordinary box office run with 4 back-to-back hits in the form of ‘Airlift’, ‘Housefull 3’, ‘Rustom’ and ‘Jolly LLB 2’, was in Reghwan village, Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh along with Union Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation Shri Narendra Singh Tomar on Saturday.
The actor also spoke about effective ways of decomposition of human waste, which continues to affect rural towns and villages of the country. Akshay said safe toilet technologies must be adopted and made a plea to all Indian citizens to stand up against discrimination and to take pride in installing, maintaining and cleaning their own household toilets for the health of their families.
Also starring Bhumi Pednekar, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ is based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachch Bharat Abhiyan. The film is expected to get government support, when it hits theatres during the Independence Day weekend this year.
