Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and Shiv Sena’s Aditya Thackeray launched their new initiative ’Women’s Safety Defence Centre’ on Friday.
Denying all rumours that he plans to join politics, Akshay said “I’ve been wanting to start an initiative like this for a few years now and have suggested it to national leaders. I’m glad that Aditya feels the same and is equally eager to take this forward”
Akki also spoke about an incident, when he spotted a man misbehaving with a woman. He stopped the car, got into his now-famous action mode and hit the man who was abusing the woman.
“Once, while I was going somewhere with a friend, I saw a man misbehaving with a lady. I stopped my car and got out and hit the guy.” he said
Talking about the training centre, where women across the city will be trained with self-defence techniques, Akshay said “There won’t be particular outfits/uniforms for the sessions. The self-defence techniques will be in keeping with what women wear in their day-to-day lives. Also, they’ll be trained to be alert so if need be they can use the props around to ward off the attacker. Besides, they will also be taught to not give anyone a chance to catch them unawares.. like not sitting in their cars and messaging on phone, because someone can attack while their attention is on the phone.”

@ Akshay Kumar, I understand what u did, but not everytime the man is at fault, sometimes the woman has provoked him to anger and he is just standing up for himself, so b4 u hit the man next time, ask about the situation and find out who is really the bad one in the situation, and like @floppy said, u shud be ashamed to go out hitting people after all ur flops, u shud be giving out hampers to all those who had to endure QUAIMD, Boss, K786, TMK as a sign of saying sorry and that u will sign better films in the future unlike ur pal lallu who will continue to harass us with copy-paste south remakes! lol

a good initiative by Akshay, and to those life less morons who took jibe atvAkshay’s Failure in recent times , it’s thrice in his carrear spanning he always bounced back like a phonix raise from the ashes . Yes his choice of films is questionable but no one can question his dedication, professionalism, punctuality and his daredevil ness. He is a true Khiladi who took failure and success with the same spirit . He is a superstar who achieved this stardom though great struggle and dedication , if any other actors would score 14 flops in a trot (like Akdhsy from 1996 to 1999 ) his carear would gsvd been finished , he is a real fighter, his fans love him because what he is today not beacause if his box office collection or fake marketing.
