It was on the 19th of November, 21 years ago, that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was crowned ‘Miss World 1994’. The model-turned-actress has said it was an incredible honour to receive from the Miss World Organisation.
“To have the opportunity to hold the title, to wear the crown with pride… that was my one time to go out there and experience beauty with a purpose. I stand here overwhelmed by this honour. I thank Miss World Organisation for such an incredible honour that I have received” Aishwarya said, in a statement that was released to the media.
After winning the Miss World title in 1994, Aishwarya Rai went on to star in films like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, ‘Taal’, ‘Mohabbatein’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Dhoom 2’, ‘Jodha Akbar’ and many others. After marrying Abhishek Bachchan in 2007, the couple have a child Aaradhya Bachchan who was born in March 2012.
Aishwarya made her comeback to film in the 2015 movie, ‘Jazbaa’.

@sultan bhushan, are you serious? When was karishma box office queen? She was only known for working in small budget comedy movies mostly featuring Govinda. Most of her hits were very few with only khans like RH, DPH, judwa, biwi no.1, and few others which I dont remember, but she has very few hits as compared to other A Lister actresses of that time. So I don’t think she was commercially viable actress. About the rest,I agree.

She tried same to Salman but he emerged victorious from worst and can have 10 Ash roaming behind him for his current Super stardom !!!!!!!!!!
