Airlift will be the 3rd film in the December – January period to cross the 100 crore mark. It was also the second clash during the same period as Airlift and Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 released together last weekend.
Dilwale vs Airlift vs Bajirao Mastani
At the end of Day 5, Dilwale is leading with collections of Rs 84.6 crore, Bajirao Mastani netted Rs 66.43 crore and Airlift has collected Rs 72.5 crore. The collections of Bajirao Mastani and Airlift are at around the same level, because Airlift benefitted from Republic Day holiday (the first week of both Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani were as good as a normal weekend).
While the ticket prices of both Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale were higher, Airlift had the advantage of a competition free run at multiplexes.

Update 29 January: At the end of Week 1, Dilwale continues to lead, followed by Bajirao Mastani at No 2. Airlift which was 2nd at the end of Day 5, has now dropped below Bajirao Mastani due to drops on Wednesday and Thursday.

Watched the movie yesterday have to accept it is one of the finest movies to have released in recent times.Couldn’t control my emotions during the climax scene.Never for a moment did I feel bored or uninterested.Many critics have criticised the placing of songs but none of the songs seems forced(except dil de di maybe). Akshay has redeemed himself and has given the best performance of his career.It is commendable on his part to be part of a movie which lacks commercial value.It would be a shame if we consider akshay only to be an entertainer anymore.He has grown immensely in the past few years and his choices has been even more incredible
Airlift is making amends for Baby and Special 26.Both deserved a blockbuster status but because of the genre couldn’t collect much.
I am sure it will be remembered as a cult classic in the coming years and another 8+ Imdb rated movie for Akki
airlift should cross 180 cr as it deserve to be there

watched Airlift yestrday..it is the answer to the hollywoods argo and zero dark thirty which are based on real event…Akki is the heart and soul of the film…this should b our oscar entry for this year…respect team airlift

BM and Dilwale were released on Christmas and Airlift is released on Non Holiday yet they can be compared this shows one thing Airlift has made the right noise in the first 5 days . Now Airlift is looking at a healthy 1st week . I don’t think Mastizaade will affect Airlift but SK can be a surprise Hit as the trailer is looking promising and the budget is reasonable . So Airlift will have a long run at the Box Office . Last year Baby ran for 6 weeks in my city – Aurangabad . Personally I want Airlift to do more than Agneepath, RR, Dabangg, D2, Bodyguard, Dilwale, TWMR, SR, Bang Bang, BM and ETT . If Airlift can beat Dilwale in Domestic business than it will be a huge boost as Dilwale was released on Christmas, favourable genre, stellar starcast, great music and more no. Of screens as compared to Airlift which released on Non Holiday, Non favourable genre, average music, less screens and only Akshay Kumar . Airlift deserves all the money .
