January isn’t the best month to release films and most releases in the first month of the year, have failed to recover costs. Airlift is probably the first big success of January after Agneepath.

good collections for airlift but i didn’t enjoyed film that much. director failed to show effort of saving lacs of indians. the scene when akki save that quwait women and her daughter was best of the movie reminds you greatness of bajrangi but overall airlift wasn’t 10% of bajrangi bhaijaan.

Above all both the movies got rave reviews from critics.
WOM are extremely positive of both.
TWMR collected over 150cr. If Akki is really a bigger star than Kangna then airlift will surely surpass TWMR’s lifetime collections.
P.S- gabbar, brothers, Singh is bling etc did not receive rave reviews from critics and WOM are mixed. Hence, I didn’t compare them with TWMR.
I think , Airlift being a niche movie beating masala movies Jai Ho and Agneepath after 2 years and 4 years respectively is also a big achievement .
