Jacqueline Fernandes, the sizzling actress of ‘Murder 2’ has decided to opt out of Raaz 3, yet another erotic thriller from the same production house. The actress, who was struggling with failures like Aladin before the success of Murder 2, earlier rejected big banner films like Krrish 3 as she refused to lock lips with Hrithik Roshan and Race 2 because she did not want to over expose.
Usually, new entrants to the industry like her take what ever comes their way. But Jacqueline is being a little fussy. She said she was not comfortable doing steamy screens onscreen and now the reason to opt out of Raaz 3 was supposedly because of the revealing costumes that she had to wear in the film.
When quizzed Mahesh Bhatt said “We as a production house make films purely on the basis of the director’s vision. Now for some reason when an actor has issues about what to wear in the film, we leave it to the director and given a choice go by what the director has in mind.”
When asked about Jacqueline’s issues with costumes in Raaz 3, Mahesh says “That’s the beauty of it. We are yet to find the replacement, as Raaz 3 goes on the floors on January 27, 2012. Destiny too plays an important role. When we were making Raaz, Lisa Ray had a similar issue and Bipasha replaced her and went on to became a huge star. Let’s hope that’s what happens with the actress who replaces Jacqueline.”
Jacqueline confirmed the news saying “Yes I am no longer a part of Raaz 3. However we have come to a mutual understanding and agreed to part ways.” Probed about her concern over the costumes, she said “Yes, there were certain concerns and I wasn’t comfortable and I told them. But they weren’t in a situation to make changes which is why I had to opt out of the film.”
With just over 10 days left for Raaz 3 to hit the floors, the Bhatts have very little time to find a replacement.
For an outsider like Jacquleine, offers like Raaz 3 from big banners do not come everyday. With such demands will Jacqueline have to pay a price for her budding career? Only time will tell.
