The Tourism Ministry of India has sacked actor Aamir Khan as the brand ambassador of Incredible India. The announcement was expected in the aftermath of Aamir’s comments on ‘intolerance’ and his wife feeling of a sense of ‘insecurity’ and ‘fear’ in India.
Aamir had even gone to the extent of saying, his wife had given ‘moving out of India’ a thought.
Aamir had said “As an individual, as part of this country as a citizen, we read in the papers what is happening, we see it on the news and certainly, I have been alarmed. I can’t deny. I have been alarmed by a number of incidents.”
“When I chat with Kiran at home, she says ‘Should we move out of India?’ That’s a disastrous and big statement for Kiran to make. She fears for her child. She fears about what the atmosphere around us will be. She feels scared to open the newspapers every day. That does indicate that there is this sense of growing disquiet, there is growing despondency apart from alarm. You feel why this is happening, you feel low. That sense does exist in me”
However, Aamir had later clarified that neither he nor his wife Kiran have any intention of leaving the country.
The Central Government had appointed Aamir Khan as the Brand Ambassador of Incredible India, which promotes Indian tourism.

If someone calls me intolerant and I start arguing or fighting with him, I’m only proving him right. Because if I can not take criticism, I AM INTOLERANT.
I think the best way India can respond is by staying calm and by respecting his views. That would be tolerance.
I mean if I say that Shahrukh Khan is intolerant, I’m sure he won’t fight me, he’ll just have a laugh and leave. That way, he would prove me wrong.
So if someone calls India intolerant (which Amir didn’t by the way), the best way to respond is by respecting his views and by staying calm.

amir is very smart and cunning actor…he is the most double standard actor i have ever seen..
at one side he does movies like rdb,tzp,and shows like satyamev jayate..on the other side he becomes a part of movie like pk and bashes his own country…
most of the fools in this country see him as an actor who is different from others…i have heard many idiots saying this”yaar aamir to har baar kuch alag krta h and society m message send krta h”…he does all these stuff only for money and nthing else…after doing rash driving episode in satyamev jayate he openly supports salman…and still indian are becoming fool as quoting him mr perfect or mr different…
This is just the start. His comments were really in bad taste against govt of India. And in future also dont expect him to involved in any plans or Initiative of govt of india.
Also seeing the response against dilwale, it looks even dangal wont be spared and film will face big trouble and will get affected in big cities when it releases due to Aamir’s comments.

Pokemon@ i agree with you. Insecure aamir brought intolerance topic around dilwale release because he know his PK record was in danger. Therefore, he planned to harm SRK and his movie. He still thinks people will forget after next 2-3 months and his movie will not get hurt. Time will tell his thought was right or goes wrong.
Right decision by central Government as the person who himself want to leave this country can not be a Brand Ambassador of Incredible India. If he is that much selfish that the people of India who made him Mega Star, he tried to show that democratic election was wrong and the people were fool. I will love if people boycott his movie Dangal too so that he could learn some lesson.

What hurt the most among two (on the performance of Dilwale and widespread protests against it on ground and social media) is Aamir Khan statement. Every post on Facebook and WhatsApp has pics of Aamir and SRK asking to boycott their films. Why SRK? He never said India is intolerant and also he said he will never leave the country. But still he was blamed. His film was made to suffer at domestic box office (see it carefully, in all BJP ruled stares it has highly underperformed).
This Aamir Khan guy must practice a year or two before saying anything in public. Like he takes years to prepare for the movie, he should take time for these important issues too. His stupidity has cost a lot more to SRK than him. By the time Dangal releases this all will go down.
Given the Pathankot attack, SRKs much expected and most awaited RAEES will go for toss as it has a Pakistani actress. Bad times ahead for SRK.. Wish FAN turns the table and RAEES gets a good release.

Dangal has potential to gross 250cr but his intolerance comment and acted as srk hater will affect the dangal too much, so dangal final collection will be around 90-100 cr maximum.
Can’t blame the tourism ministry after whole controversy. I’m sure Aamir saw it coming, too.
If some one can dare to release his movie against Dangal, don’t surprise that movie can be dark horse just like Bajirao Mastani against Dilwale. Its a fact that Bajirao Mastani could not earn this much if it would release any other time.

As far as replacements are concerned, I think Amitabh Bachchan, A. R. Rahman or Sachin Tendulkar would be perfect choice.
