2 States is just Rs 3.58 crore short of the 100 crore mark, which it should manage to cross by the end of its 4th week at the box office. The film has performed phenomenally well both in India and the overseas markets where it has collected around Rs 31 crore in 3 weeks.
2 States is the biggest hit so far this year, while Jai Ho (Rs 112 cr) will remain 2014’s highest grosser. The next film that can realistically challenge the two films is Akshay Kumar’s Holiday which releases in theatres on June 6th.

it might just touch 100 crore. and now after seeing the B.O performance of 2 states I’m pretty sure Holiday will go past Jai Ho’s 116 crore collections (If it is widely appreciated like 2 states).
I think holiday will hardly challenge gunday so forget about 2 states.
”2 States” was fantastic over week one and film collected big numbers despite limited urban appeal and not so great performance in north. Film fought with three new releases in 2nd week and 3rd week including big Hollywood biggie but still film came out with 2nd best 3rd week figures in 2014.
Film collected close to 38.06 cr nett over weekend and weekdays were crucial for the film. Film remained rock steady and never went lower than 5 cr nett which is remarkable. Film collected huge 60.77 cr nett in week one, 3rd best week one after ”Jai Ho”” and ”Gunday”.
Film was not much affected by new releases in 2nd week and film managed good 26 cr nett plus in 2nd week, which was highest 2nd week in 2014. Film started superb 3rd week and collected good numbers despite competition.
Film collected 1.67 cr nett on 3rd Friday followed by 2.70 cr nett on 3rd Saturday with a jump of 35%. Film added further 3.13 cr nett on Sunday which was again jump of 25%. Film collected 1 cr nett on 3rd Monday which was just 25% drop from 3rd Friday followed by 90 lakhs on Tuesday, 75 lakhs on Wednesday and 65 lakhs on Thursday.
Film collected 10.70 cr nett plus in 3rd week which is only 2nd to 11.90 cr nett of 3rd week of ”Queen”. Film has collected 98.10 cr nett in 21 days and film will cross 100 cr nett by Sunday afternoon. Super hit!

You missed Sarfarosh which was successful. By considering DG and Sarfarosh Aamir has 20 successful films. Point to be noted even his failure he had some good films like Raakh,ahat,mann while Cult classic AAA. @romance and @praveen 2 states also crossed classic RNBDJ and MNIK. And will beat JThj 101cr and Don 2 104cr.
