4 movies crossed the 100 crore mark in 2011 – Ready, Bodyguard, Singham, Ra One – and Don 2 is likely to cross the magical number this week.
There are several biggies lined up for release in 2012. But how many will cross 100 crores at the Indian box-office? Here’s our prediction..
- Agneepath – Starring Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Katrina Kaif in a special item number, Agneepath should be the first film to cross 100 crores in 2012. The hype is HUGE.
- Talaash – First Aamir Khan film after the biggest blockbuster in Bollywood history – 3 Idiots! Need we say more?
- Rowdy Rathore – The fact that action films are favorites for box-office gold, should work in Rowdy Rathore’s favour. The film should provide the much needed boost to Akshay Kumar’s career, which has been going down-hill with every release since 2010’s Housefull.
- Ek Tha Tiger – The average of his last three films, at the Indian box-office, is approximately 140 crores! Plus Ek Tha Tiger is releasing during EID. Should cross 100 crores in Week 1.
- Bol Bachchan – This could go either way – but given Ajay Devgan and director Rohit Shetty’s track record together (Golmaal series, Singham), Bol Bachchan could go on to be one of 2012’s biggest hits!
- Dabangg 2 – Three factors why this should easily cross 100 crores – Christmas release, sequel to one of 2010’s most loved films and Salman Khan!
- Yash Chopra film starring Shahrukh Khan – A legendary director and one of Bollywood’s biggest superstars – Yash Chopra and SRK come together for yet another romantic film. Fresh starcast with SRK paired with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. Should be treat and not to mention, a box-office monster!

Very much right..Houseful-2 also..Yashraj+Srk can create magic..likely to be biggest grosser..Salmaan movies are more depends upon hype and right time of release (Eid and Christmas)..but certainly have no class at all..Priyadarshan’s Tezz can be a Drak-horse..Akshay Kumar need only one or two release in a year, not 4-6 per year..No other Superstar dares this as they know no-one can keep big interest in people when so many are coming and also with big budgets to recover..Akki must rethink his strategy now..although by this way only he have given more number of hits compared to any other superstar ever except Amitabh..and Talaash depends upon City/Multiplex audience..without mass appeal it is likely to gross approx 125-175 carore but still a big hit..
Agneepath (1990) was a just a hit..but Its because of too much hype, big budget (according to that time) and sky high expectations from Amitabh and Mithun..although delivered as far as performance level..same for the Agneepath (2012) is likely..but still its going to be hit and cross 100 carore mark easily..

Reasons why Diwali SRK- yashchpora won’t be big hit is because its releasing with Khiladi 420 and Son of Sardar two big movie hence collection of this movie will be getting affected. Though it will take good start but certainly not record breaking. So all SRK fans just chill and watch the sallu magic this year.

All movies of Khans will surely cross 100 cr. Hrithik’s Agneepath is his only movie this year and it already crossed 100 cr. Akshay has 2 100 cr. movies already, namely Rowdy Rathore and Housefull 2, and has Joker and Khiladi 786 ahead. Ajay’s Tezz was a disaster, but Bol Bachchan is a hit and is looking to cross 100 cr. Saif’s Agent Vinod was a flop, but Cocktail is currently on demand, but it is doubtful of 100 cr. Other movies, I think, has less chance to cross 100 cr.
