The Shaukeens Weekend Box Office Collections

‘The Shaukeens’ has done fairly well in its first weekend at the domestic box office. The film has collected Rs 18.53 crore, which is a decent total considering the star cast of the film. On Friday, the film opened slow, picked up on Saturday and managed to collect about 7 crore on Sunday. The fate of ‘The Shaukeens’ will be decided depending on how well its fares on Monday (today). The reports are mixed, and the word-of-mouth is certainly not as good as some of those films that start slow and then go from strength-to-strength over the weekdays. The Shaukeens has taken a decent start at the box office on Friday. Given the star cast of the film (Akshay Kumar only makes a special appearance), The Shaukeens has released on nearly 1900 – 2000 screens, which is higher than most medium-budget films released this year. It should cross the 5 crore mark if it evening / night shows hold up.

Happy New Year vs Bang Bang: Box Office Collection Comparison

Happy New Year has gone past the lifetime business of Bang Bang in just 10 days after its release. The Shahrukh Khan starrer benefitted from a solo Diwali release, had the widest ever screen count, costlier ticket prices and had significantly higher number of shows. Bang Bang released with Haider and had plenty of holidays in its first week. The Hrithik Roshan film did well enough to collect Rs 179.3 crore at the domestic box office, including business from all versions.

Happy New Year 5 Days Box Office Collections

Happy New Year has collected Rs 13.17 crore on its 5th day at the box office, which is about the same as we estimated late last night.  The film is steady at the box office and the Shahrukh Khan starrer will go on to be one of the biggest grossers of all-time, but more was expected out of the film after a record-breaking opening day of 44.97 crore.

Highest Monday Collections of All Time: Happy New Year @ No 5

Happy New Year has recorded the 5th highest Monday collections of all time and the 2nd highest non-holiday Monday of all time. In the all-time list, Krrish 3 still stands tall with first Monday collections of Rs 35.91  crore – this was the same day (a day after Diwali holiday) that Happy New Year collected Rs 44.97 crore.
