Shahrukh Khan and the History of Diwali Clashes!

It would not be wrong to state that SRK’s superstardom has been scripted mostly due to the festival of lights. Long before other superstars could claim their stake on the Diwali festivity, the ‘Baadshah of Bollywood’ has lent the auspicious festival his box office vigour. Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan will be his 10th (Yes, you read it right) Diwali release in his illustrious career spanning more than two decades.

Salman Khan’s Next Movie – You pick!

Note: There are rumours that Salman might not have a release for EID next year, as there are talks of Akshay Kumar releasing Naam Hai Boss for the festive weekend. Salman Khan is the talk of the town, what with Ek Tha Tiger now almost touching the 200 crore mark in India. Wanted (2009, Eid) started the trend as the movie recorded huge collections on Eid (Monday), which was more than the previous 3 days. Dabangg (2010, Eid) broke all opening records of 3 Idiots and took Salman’s popularity to a different level. Bodyguard (2011, Eid) broke Dabangg’s opening record by almost 45%.

Gen-x reality in Cocktail

Cocktail, the recent release starring Saif-Deepika-Diana, has found acceptance amongst the urban audience and hence it is doing good business across the high end multiplexes. Co-written by Imtiaz Ali, director Homi Adajania has brilliantly highlighted the Gen-X attitude and mentality. We all are influenced from the Western Culture obviously as they are the highly progressive countries. So we pretend to be having the so-called ‘Mod attitude’. The most common day-to-day dialogs you hear will be : ‘I wanna be myself’,’ I am an independent person’,’ I live life on my own terms’,’ I enjoy life to the fullest, who cares about tomorrow’ and the list goes on.

Best Sunny Deol Movie Scenes and Dialogues

If there is one hero in the Hindi Film Industry, whose dialogue delivery and sheer energy is enough to make a villian tremble, then undoubtedly its Bollywood’s most popular action superstar Sunny Deol. His unmatched punch-lines combined with the fearless red-eyed look has made him probably the best natural action hero that India has ever seen. Today, there is no one quite like Sunny Deol. Gone are the days of real raw action, now we only get to  see edited and artificial stuff. The credit for which goes more to the action director, cameramen and body doubles.. than the actors. There are numerous scenes where his thunderous presence has given me goose bumps. The top 5 most unforgettable scenes are as mentioned below:

Top 5 Khan films that deserved better at the box office

Article by Indicine reader Abhishek Sharma The 3 Khans (Aamir, Shahrukh and Salman) have been ruling the Indian Box Office for more than two decades now.  All three have been consistently successful and delivered numerous hits over the years. While few of their ‘bad’ films have done exceptionally well at the box-office, some of their exceptionally good films have tanked. Here is my list of 5 such movies, featuring the 3 legends, which deserved a lot more success than what they got.

Is Akshay Kumar a threat to the top spot?

An analysis on Akshay Kumar’s career by Indicine reader Abhishek Sharma. Akshay Kumar has been around in the industry for 20 years now and the count of his successful movies would most definitely be greater than those of Khan’s but he has never posed a serious threat to any of the reigning Khan’s for the top Spot. Let us try to figure out the reason with a brief analysis of Khiladi’s career. He tasted super success at a very early stage of his career with Khiladi, Mohra, Yeh Dillagi and Waqt Hamara hai.
